Sharon attended the Edith Duncan School of Dance from the age of 2 ½ until the age of 16, winning 6 Scottish Titles and numerous other awards, scholarships and trophies along the way. Sharon was also the youngest child to play the main role of Clara in the Scottish ballet's production of the nutcracker aged only 7! Sharon went on to further her training at the London College of Dance (the Imperial Society of Dance’s College) and graduated in 1990 with teaching qualifications in all subjects and a Diploma in Teaching, opening her school upon her return to Aberdeen.  Sharon is fully qualified in cheer Level 3 through the BCA well as holding the WCA and Legacy Cheer Judges certification. Sharon is also qualified in Pom, Cheer Jazz and High Kick with the International Cheer Union. As well as more dance based qualifications with the ISTD and IDTA and most recently became qualified (gaining) Distinction in IDTA in Acrobatic Dance.  Sharon is a fully qualified first aider and chaperone. 

Over the course of the last 30 years, Sharon has taught hundreds of girls and boys and adults all subjects including ballet, tap, modern, jazz, cheerleading, pom, lyrical, stretch ‘n’ Tone and line dancing as well as choreographing numerous shows for drama groups including Singing in the Rain, A Chorus Line, Fame, We will Rock you, Daddy Cool, Wizard of Oz and the King and I, to name but a few, as well as countless pantomimes (and has been known to make the odd appearance herself!) and has also choreographed for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.  Sharon has also had the privilege of being invited to judge various competitions over the years.

Sharon continues her passion, encouraging and nurturing children in all aspects of dance as well as choreographing hundreds of routines a year for all her solo, duet, trio and team competitive pupils. She can always be found prancing around her living room, note book in hand preparing classes and routines for her classes and pupils.

Throughout the recent Covid-19 Crisis, Sharon and her coaches continued to teach through Zoom and outdoor classes ensuring her passion for her work continued and that of her health and well-being of her pupils was able to be maintained whilst out of the studio. We were delighted to be getting back to in person training at the end of April. 


Morgan didn't really have a choice to join the School, given that she is the Principals daughter (!) however she is turning into a wonderful teacher and choreographer in her own right. Morgan can be seen helping out at all the classes and also choreographs for our Sharon Gill School of Dance Competitive Soloists/Duets and has already seen lots of her routines winning top titles, trophies and medals as well as qualifying for a national competition in London


Morgan is fully qualified in Cheer through the BCA (British Cheerleading Association  and has recently added qualifications in Pom, Cheer, Hip hop and High Kick through the International Cheer Association and BGU (building from the ground up) to her ever-growing CV.

Morgan is currently on Team Scotland Senior Hip hop after successfully auditioning last August to represent her country at the 2020 ICU World Championships in Florida. Unfortunately, this didn't go to plan due to Covid-19 and the team have chosen to pull out of Worlds 2021 as they have been unable to train but when the time comes for her to compete at Worlds in 2022, she will be even more excited to make her debut on the World's stage and her training can resume. 


We are DELIGHTED and thrilled to announce that Morgan has been selected to coach the SCOTTISH NATIONAL TEAM for Youth Hip Hop at next year's world championships in Florida. It will be the first time that this age group will compete a the Worlds and we are over the moon that Morgan has been chosen to train and choreograph the Youth team. 


Natalie is one of our Hip Hop Coaches and is qualified through the BGU. Natalie has been part of ACDC for many years and was a member of jazz, pom and cheer teams as well as hip hop. By day, Natalie is a fully qualified pharmacist and currently coaches our youth and senior hip hop teams. Natalie cannot wait to continue to progress the hip hop teams in 2021 having spent most of the last year coaching on zoom. 


Lauren has been part of the ACDC family for many years and having been a competition squad member, now is part of our Cheer coaching team and is a valued member who’s stunt choreography is outstanding. Lauren is qualified to Level 3 BCQ. Lauren graduated from GAMTA in Glasgow with an HND in Musical Theatre and has travelled the World working in the Theatre with shows such as Miss Saigon, Mary Poppins, Grease in various capacities, with some big name stars such as Peter Andre! Even though her competing days are over, Lauren stepped in at the last minute when we last competed in February 2020 due to a team member becoming injured, really saving the day!  By day, Lauren is Recruitment Manager but her passion and commitment to our ACDC teams is upmost and she is a valued member of the Coaching staff and we are so lucky to have her on our Coaching faculty. 


Niaomi has spent many years with ACDC as a member of our jazz, hip hop, pom and cheer teams, Niaomi only hung up her competition shoes last year. Niaomi is a much-loved member of our Coaching staff and is always on hand to cover and teach all classes where required but is a permanent coach for our junior and senior cheer teams. Niaomi is qualified to Level 2 BCQ. By day, Niaomi is a social worker and is due to get married this year. Niaomi is a perfectionist and has such a warm manner in order to get the best out of all our athletes


Chelsey currently coaches our tiny and youth cheer teams and still competes with the Senior Jazz, lyrical, pom and cheer teams. Chelsey is qualified to level 3 BCQ and as well as all that, you may recognise Chelsey in her role as lots of different Princesses for the Love Rara Company. On top of all that, Chelsey has a Level 2 teaching Assistant qualification and has recently started working towards and SVQ level 3 in social services for children and young people. 


Erin is a coach for our tiny and youth pink cheer teams and still competes herself for our senior cheer team. Erin has recently upgraded her qualifications to BCQ level 3 and also holds up to date certifications in covid prevention and GPDR. Erin has been with ACDC for many years and was also previously on our senior pom team. By day, Erin studies events management at University. Erin says being part of such an amazing programme in ACDC is fantastic and is very excited about the Season ahead now that we are back in the Studio. 

Georgia Miller BGU: 

Georgia Miller is brand new to our coaching team having recently qualified in levels 1 and 2 wkth the BCQ and currently assists with the junior white team 

Georgia has been an athlete at ACDC for many years and is currently on our senior black cheer team. We are delighted that she has progressed into coaching and look forward to having as part of our coaching team for season 21/22. Georgia is in 3rd year studying social work at RGU and on top of all that, works part time as a waitress at Macs Pizzeria


Amy stewart has been a pupil at the School for many years and is currently on our senior jazz, lyrical and hip-hop teams. She also continues to take classes at advanced level in tap, ballet, modern and jazz. Amy has recently become a fully qualified hip hop coach and continues to assist in all our younger classes on a Saturday. 


Erin is an assistant coach for our hip hop teams and has been with ACDC for many years. Erin still competes with the senior hip hop team and by day is a fully qualified hairdresser. Erin is looking forward to gaining her full teaching qualifications and helping to take our junior athletes to the next level.  

Chloe Garden

Miss Chloe has been a member of ACDC since she was tiny and provides class assisting and class cover. Miss Chloe is brand new to our teaching team having recently become a qualified coach in lyrical, jazz and pom through the BGU as well as still being a part of our competitive jazz and lyrical teams. Chloe took 2 years away in Motherwell to gain her HNC and HND qualifications in Musical Theatre but we are delighted to have her back in our classes and part of our teaching faculty. Chloe still also takes part in advanced level classes at our sister school, Sharon Gill School of Dance, in Tap, Ballet, Modern, and Jazz. 

Junior Coaches and Class assistants

Miss Charleigh: Charleigh is 15 years old and has been dancing for 8 years. Charleigh currently takes classes with the school in Tap, Ballet, Modern and Jazz as well as being part of the ACDC Junior lyrical team and Senior Hip Hop, Jazz, Lyrical, Pom and Cheer. Charleigh’s highlights have been dancing at the British Grand Prix in 2019 as well as coming 4thin Acrobatic Dance at a National Competition in London in 2019.  Charleigh has won numerous medals and trophies as a soloist, and also duets and trios as well as teams and can’t wait to get back on the competition floor when things return to normal. Charleigh has started her coaching journey by gaining the BGU Coaches Module 1 qualification in Cheer and Strength for Juniors and is keen to add to this very soon. 


Miss April: April is 15 years old and has danced with the school all of her life since she was 2! April is currently in 4 teams: Junior lyrical (where she is team Captain), Senior Jazz, Pom and Lyrical as well as representing us as a soloist. April also takes part in weekly classes in Ballet, Tap, Modern and Jazz as well as attending Associate Ballet classes in Edinburgh on a monthly basis. April can always be seen helping out at our classes in town and our westhill hub. April hopes to start her journey to becoming a fully qualified teacher/coach very soon having just taken her first CPD course on Pom with the BCQ

Miss Stephanie: Stephanie is 14 years old and has danced with the school since she was tiny. “Steph” takes class in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Modern and is part of our ACDC Junior Lyrical, Senior Hip hop, Pom, Jazz, Lyrical and Cheer teams. When not helping our little ones out, Steph can mostly be found upside down tumbling and recently won the Strathclyde Junior Acro Championship 2020. As well as this, Stephanie has won numerous medals and trophies as a soloist and with her friends in duets and trios as well as teams and has won many grand champion titles along the way. Stephanie recently passed Module 1 in cheer and strength with the BGU for Junior Coaches and hopes to add to this very soon. Steph was also part of the performance team at the British Grand Prix 2019. 

Miss Sophie: Sophie is currently on both our Junior and Senior Cheer teams. She helps out with all our wee ones on a Saturday. Sophie would love to become a fully qualified coach and has started this journey by gaining Junior Coaches qualifications in BGU for coaching children age 3-6, level 1 stunts and tumbles, cheer strength module 1 and junior dance coaching. Sophie was part of the performance team at the 2019 British Grand Prix and can’t wait to go back again when things return to normal.
